Dear Parents,

There has been a steady increase in the amount of students coming to school sick.  If your child is sick or they are stating that they do not feel well please DO NOT send them to school. Sending your child to school can cause transmission of these illnesses to other students.  Please take these extra steps to help the Drinkwater School stay as illness free as possible.

1.    Please check your child's temperature. If it is 99.5 F or above, please keep them home.

2.    If they do not have a fever but have complaints of nausea, vomiting, headache, body ache, chills, lethargy, or dizziness please keep them home.

Those with flu-like illness should stay home at least 24 hours after they no longer have a fever, or signs of a fever, without the use of fever- reducing medicines.  They should stay home even if they are taking antiviral medication.  If your child comes to school sick, they will be sent home.

Sincerely,  Monica Loring, RN, BSN
