Hi Everyone,

It is that time of year again that we need to get our lunch bills paid. If your child owes money for lunch, a bill will be going home today with the balance that is owed as of today. If you know your child will be eating the rest of the week, please add the appropriate amount to the total ($2.75 Paid lunch, $.40 Reduced lunch) If your child is free lunch and they will be taking a milk, please add $.50).

We appreciate your help in helping us get our school closed for the Summer. Please call the office if you have any questions about the bills.

Make Up Days

posted Apr 6, 2018, 7:25 AM by Marcia Brown

Haven’t we had quite the winter? It’s been quite a while since we have used 9 snow days in one season. It is required that all snow days be made up and we have a plan for making up
some of that time to avoid a longer stay in June. We will be eliminating our early release Fridays beginning on May 4th. The new Friday dismissal time will be 3:00. This will continue throughout the remainder of the year. We will reinstate
our early release Fridays next fall. At this point, our last day of school will be Thursday, June 14th. I hope this information helps as you begin making summer plans for your family.
Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at 338-3430. As always, thank you for all that you do to support your child and our school.

Drinkwater Students Win DI Competition

Two teams from the Drinkwater K-8 School in Northport, ME

traveled to Bangor on March 24, 2018 to compete in the Maine

State Destination Imagination Tournament. Both teams returned

with first place trophies and were escorted back to school with sirens blaring by the Northport Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Department!

The Middle School Team has the opportunity to compete in the Destination Imagination Global Finals in Knoxville, TN on May 23-26, with students from all over the US and 38 countries. They have entered into a massive fundraising campaign to raise the sum needed for the trip. There will a 20 pound lobster raffle, solicitation for donations and gift certificates to be bid on at the Spaghetti Dinner on April 28th at the school. Please call the school at 338-3430 for raffle tickets and further information.

Each team chose a DI challenge to undertake which requires them to create a solution to the challenge and present it in a dramatic presentation. The middle school team created an original script, two original pieces of music, with lyrics and played them with their own instruments to solve the “Change of Tune” challenge. The elementary team did a community service project and presentation in support of the Northport Food Pantry.
